- A personal souvenir photo, a short video with the hills in the background? For private purposes, photography is of course permitted both inside the buildings and in the outdoor area – but only for private purposes. The entire site, including the buildings, is listed as a historical monument due to its historical significance and architecture. Therefore, you may not use flash or other external light sources, tripods, selfie sticks or other aids (reflector umbrellas, ladders, etc.).
We ask you to be considerate of other visitors. In justified cases, security personnel may ask you to shorten or stop your private photography activities. Photography is not permitted in selected rooms.
Have you taken all this into account? Then there is nothing to prevent you from posting on social networks (such as Facebook or Instagram). Professional bloggers, influencers and content creators are exempt from this rule. - Wedding photos in or in front of Villa Hügel? Wedding photos are not permitted either inside the buildings or in the park.
- Impressive drone photos of Villa Hügel? We're sorry, but drone photography and other aerial photography are not permitted for safety reasons.
- Commercial film and photo shoots in the park or in Villa Hügel? Unfortunately, advertising shoots, product shoots, TV and cinema shoots, tourism projects, exhibition projects, photos for publication in print media or online publications, fashion shoots, etc. cannot take place on the grounds or in the buildings.
- Professionally organised shoots or projects of public interest? Permits are also not issued for blogs, school or university projects, art projects or other independent film work. Villa Hügel and the park are listed buildings and places of historical significance and do not serve as backdrops.
- Are there any exceptions? In individual cases, the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation, as the owner, grants special permits for projects that fulfil the spirit of the foundation and have a non-profit character. Applications can be submitted at presse@krupp-stiftung.de.
